Hi, I’m Hayley, and this is my flower journey.
Before deciding I wanted flowers to be part of my life full time, I spent two decades of my career in advertising and marketing, I had my little boy Noah, and I married the love of life Matthew. But my passion for flowers has always pulled me back to the present, leaving me inspired and keeping me practicing.
In 2019 I graduated from an intensive Career Change Course through Bloom College, a private flower school based in Melbourne. In 2020 I worked at Petal and Sage in Sandringham, creating bouquets based on website orders and corporate subscriptions, greeting customers in store and creating bouquets based on brief and budget and working on wedding and event floral designs including table centrepieces, buttonholes, arbors, plinths, signage and large scale installations working as part of the Petal and Sage team.
In 2021 I took maternity leave to have my beautiful boy Noah, and in 2023 I slowly started to return to work, freelancing for Petal and Sage both in the shop and for wedding and event work. As well as creating bespoke arrangements under my own name I also started running private flower workshops at different locations around the beautiful Mornington Peninsula including Cruden Farm, Kerri Greens and The Butcher’s Daughter, where i connected with community to teach the fundamentals of flower care and basic floral design.
After a recent step back into a marketing a role, I realise now that working with flowers is what I want to do for the rest of my life. Ultimately I want to create beautiful things with flowers with flower and event experts in and around Melbourne.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
